Barbie x Boss Beauties = Empowerment

Barbie is going beyond imagination and making the dreams of women around the world reality through the Barbie Dream Gap Project.

Founded in 2018, this project aims to solve this gap by creating awareness about limiting factors to women achieving their dreams. More than $1 million has been committed thus far to providing lasting solutions through education, leadership skills and mentorship opportunities.

On International Women’s Day 2022, the Project went even further to inspire and promote young women around the globe through its partnership with the Boss Beauties NFT project, which aims to “empower girls and women at the forefront of technology, leadership and creativity.”

For 10 years, it has been Boss Beauties’ mission to educate and empower the next generation of Women and Girls. The Boss Beauties Role Models NFT collection is an extension of the same passion and goals by showcasing diverse and empowered women in positions of power, successful in STEAM fields and at the forefront of next-generation style inspiration. 

The NFT collection features 10,000 unique, independent and strong Women which are also used to access exclusive virtual events and more that will be auctioned between March 9th-12th via Open Sea. 

The Barbie Dream Gap project will also shine a light on 12 global female role models in different industries to remind women of their capability, not only to succeed but to excel at anything and everything. Countries represented include the USA, Mexico, China, Australia, Brazil, Australia, France, Germany and Indonesia.  

Some of the notable female leaders include Shonda Rhimes (Founder & CEO, Women’s Startup Lab and Women’s Startup Lab Impact Foundation), Pat McGrath (Makeup Artist and Founder of Pat McGrath Labs), Jane Martino (Chair and Co-Founder of Smiling Mind), Lan Yu (Fashion Designer), Sonia Peronai (Founder of Italian food website, ‘GialloZafferano’); and Adriana Azuara (Founder of All4Spas).

The Project will also introduce its first partnership with Inspiring Girls International, a charitable organization. The partnership will deliver Dream Gap Workshops in countries including Spain, the UK, Italy, France and the US, reaching 3,500 in the following year.

Furthermore, they will unveil a new curated shopping platform,, which caters to diverse female-founded, limited edition and giftable products in beauty, accessories and fashion. 

Kudos to Mattel. Through the Barbie Dream Gap Project, it is creating exemplary inspiration for young girls beyond play.
