The Fourth of July is around the corner and everyone is looking forward to spending time with family and friends. But nothing makes Independence Day more complete than the display of fireworks by Macy’s.

Macy’s is famous for its barrage of fireworks. A pyrotechnic salute to America of 48,000 dazzling shells and effects to be exact over 25 minutes!

But this year, you will not only enjoy the physical barrage but a digital barrage as well.

The brand launched a Discord channel plus a series of 10,000 NFTs to celebrate its 46th annual Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks. The free NFTs will be hosted on the Polygon blockchain and available beginning June 20, 2022.

“As we commemorate our Independence Day with the nation’s largest pyrotechnic celebration, Macy’s wanted to take the fun into the Web3 frontier bringing the revelry to a digital landscape,” Executive Producer of Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Will Coss said. “These free Macy’s Fireworks NFTs will help attract a new set of fans with an easy-to-access implementation that democratizes this emerging space for a mass audience, while also embracing a digitally native audience with added utilities including Augmented Reality wearables.”

How can you get your hands on them? As long as you are registered via Macy’s Discord channel, you can access the NFTs on a first-come, first-serve basis. The NFTs have three designs; Classic, Rare, and Ultra Rare. Additionally, they have extra utility.

You will be able to access Augmented Reality wearables. The wearables can be used on various social media and video communications platforms.

Macy’s promises more surprises in the coming weeks for NFT collectors and Macy’s Fireworks fans. To stay up to date on the latest developments, visit its website or Macy’s Discord.
