Pampers Tackles Black Maternal Health

Written By Aira De Guzman

During their pregnancy and post-partum journey, black mums experience inequality, systemic bias, high risk of complications and death. This is a sad reality that needs immediate change.

Fortunately, brands like Pampers are stepping up to create change… now.

Pampers is proudly sponsoring the fifth annual Black Maternal Health Week. The week is founded and led by Black Mamas Matter Alliance (BMMA). This sponsorship is ideal because BMMA has already been doing great work with Black women by providing scholarships, maternity care, and advocacy.

More so, they are partnering with Rock The Bells to create a limited edition Non-Fungible Token (NFT) collection whose proceeds will be donated to BMMA to advance care for more Black mums. All the NFTs are designed by artist Keah Adams of Art By Venus Studio, an advocate for Black voices in the Arts.

The NFTs will be auctioned on Curio, the premier NFT platform for some of the biggest names in entertainment.

What can you expect from the NFT auction?

A unique motion-designed NFT plus 2 VIP tickets to the upcoming Rock The Bells Festival in August, and an unlimited number of open edition digital collectible NFTs.

In 2021, Pampers invested over $1million to lower the systemic barriers Black moms face in receiving equitable care. In 2022, it will expand its implicit bias training with March of Dimes, which will positively impact over 20,000 parents each year; and form ongoing strategic partnerships with other leading organizations in the field.

This shows their consistent support for creating a better environment for black maternal health to thrive.
