UnicornDAO – a collectors DAO co-founded by Pussy Riot to buy art created by women, LGBTQ+, and non-binary people – is partnering with blockchain-based 501(c)(3) public charity and community foundation Endaoment to launch LegalAbortion.eth. This multisignature wallet offers an easy avenue to donate ETH or ERC-20s to reproductive rights organizations.

LegalAbortion.eth is a simple and safe web3 eth wallet that any NFT creator, decentralized application, or decentralized finance protocol can use to donate crypto. The multisignature feature requires multiple private “keys” or users to sign a transaction, adding another layer of security to wallet transactions by ensuring that multiple key holders remain accountable to one another. All multisig signers for LegalAbortion.eth have agreed upon the ultimate destination of all funds received, Endaoment’s  fund.

100% of the contributions will be distributed to the seven pre-vetted organizations benefiting from the fund: Center for Reproductive Rights, Fund Texas Choice, SisterSoung Women of Color Reproductive Justice Collective, NARAL, Fos Feminista, Planned Parenthood, and URGE. There is no minimum or KYC required to donate. While donations to the multisig are not tax deductible, Endaoment’s 501(c)(3) status allows anyone to make tax deductible donations directly on the fund page: https://app.endaoment.org/reproductiverights

“With the increased scams and fear plaguing the web3 space, this Ethereum wallet is a key building block to allow anonymous and decentralized donations to keep the fight for reproductive rights alive,” said Zach Bronstein, COO of Endaoment. “The hope is that LegalAbortion.eth removes any red tape that donors would otherwise encounter when dealing with crypto donations.”

All members of the multisig are trusted individuals in the web3 space and are public with their philanthropic intent and activity. Multisigners include Stani Kulechov of Aave and Lens Protocol, Amanda Cassatt of Serotonin, John Caldwell (Vegsurfer) of UnicornDAO, Robbie Heeger and Zach Bronstein of Endaoment, Molly Dickson of Computer Cowgirls, Nadya Tolokonnikova of Pussy Riot and UnicornDAO, Pplpleasr, IX Shells, Amanda Cassatt, Rahilla Zafar, Kelly Ann Collins of Vult Lab, and more.

“I spent 2 years in Russian jail fighting against religious bans on our bodies,” said Nadya Tolokonnikova, a co-founder of Pussy Riot, Mediazona, and UnicornDAO. “Now, 10 years later, I see America stripping millions of uterus holders away from basic human rights. I’m enraged and annoyed, but as an activist, I prefer to channel my rage into action. I use crypto for enhancing social movements, with UnicornDAO, UkraineDAO, and Pussy Riot’s own charitable digital art drops, that’s why when I got the news about Roe vs Wade being overturned, I wanted to give crypto native people an easy way to donate, easy, transparent and momentarily. That’s why we created LegalAbortion.eth. Well, earlier in June, we also occupied the Texas State Capitol with a 45 feet ‘MATRIARCHY NOW!’ banner. Vasectomy prevents abortion. A(wo)men”.

“With Ukraine DAO, we were able to create a wallet and raise awareness quickly – the hard part became efficiently deploying the funds after we raised the initial $7m,” said John Caldwell, Vegsurfer. “This time we wanted to work with Endaoment to solve this from the start – so no matter what no management or overhead was used to get the funds to activists on the Federal, state, and local level.”

In addition to the Protect Reproductive Rights fund and the LegalAbortion.eth partnership, Endaoment is also facilitating COWGIRLDAO’s NFT donations in support of abortion access and is providing the rails for Art of Choice’s NFT collection donation in which 24 artists donated 1,973 NFTs to raise funds for reproductive rights. Through Endaoment’s crypto processing infrastructure, all proceeds from both projects will benefit organizations protecting reproductive rights.

NFT Projects
With the launch of LegalAbortion.eth, multiple projects are already planning to funnel their donations through the wallet. John Knopf, an Emmy nominated NFT artist, has announced an open edition minting of his photography, with proceeds going to LegalAbortion.eth. Stani Kulechov, founder of DeFi protocol AAVE, will be featuring a drop with Pussy Riot on his new project Lens Protocol, with proceeds going to LegalAbortion.eth.

An NFT collection known as Dance Babby Dance announced on Twitter that you could interact with a smart contract to Abort your Babby NFT, which would send the user an “illegal abortion” NFT, soulbound to their wallet. The smart contract then automatically donated 0.1 ETH ($120) to legalabortion.eth. At the time of writing, more than 46 users have aborted their Babby NFT, for a total of approximately $5,000 USD donated.

Any project or artist that wants to commit donations to the initiative can receive help through UnicornDAO’s network with social media, awareness, twitter spaces, and media coverage by filling out this interest form
