Selling out your first NFT collection in a short time is an amazing feat.
But doing it again? Twice is the charm.
In July 2021, World of Women sold out its first collection of 10,000 NFTs. Recently, in March 2022, the Wow team repeated the feat in 3 days with its second collection of 22,222 NFT avatars, WoW Galaxy.
WoW Galaxy launched in three stages:
- Free minting for World of Women holders where holders could claim one (1) free World of Women Galaxy NFT for each WoW NFT owned.
- Public sale where 10,000 World of Women Galaxy NFTs went on sale through a Dutch auction with a ceiling price of 3 ETH.
- Minting for allowlist winners – 2,222 WoW Galaxy NFTs to mint at a fixed price of 0.3 ETH.
- Public sale on OpenSea.
Within 24 hours of launching, WoW Galaxy generated $79 million in sales. This represented $34 million in direct sales from the first mint and $45 million in secondary market transactions.
The collection exceeded the $60 million mark making it the most-traded NFT collection. The WoWG trading volume surpassed other notable NFT profile picture (PFP) projects, such as Azuki, the Bored Ape Yacht Club, and the Mutant Ape Yacht Club.
A portion of the proceeds from primary and secondary royalties go to the WoW Foundation, which pursues opportunities for women in Web 3.0 and the Metaverse. On the horizon, Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine production studio will develop TV shows and films based on the NFT project, while Jazwares has secured the toy production license.
We cannot wait for what is ahead for WoW, a successful female-founded frontrunner in the NFT space promoting diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity.
